The City of Mbombela is calling on township entrepreneurs to apply for its latest Township Economy Support Programme, managed by the Department of Local Economic Development and Tourism.

This initiative helps Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) access the tools, machinery, and equipment they need to grow. It also encourages formalisation, job creation, and long-term sustainability.

In a province where small businesses power local economies, this programme strengthens the link between township business development and inclusive growth. Unlike traditional funding schemes, it offers direct, in-kind support, making it easier for businesses to boost productivity and operate more efficiently.

WHAT’S COVERED

The Township Economy Support Programme provides equipment, machinery, and tools valued up to R100 000.

This hands-on support helps township and rural enterprises expand operations and increase output. Moreover, it allows businesses to focus on growth instead of struggling with resource constraints.
